LEGEND OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL
Down in New Orleans, an artifact known as the "Whisperer", a glass crystal skull believed to grant the one who possesses it with immortality, but not in this case when the last one to obtain the rumored unearthly artifact, Bruno Bolet, is found dead. Meanwhile, the artifact remains missing.
Is his death merely a result of his own mortality? Or is time not the only cause of concern?
Head down to New Orleans for rainy nights and warm gumbo to track down a missing artifact and possibly a murderer.

Bruno's great nephew, who he had taken in when Henry's parents had died, but with all that time Bruno believed to harness from the crystal skull very little would be spent with Henry, who in Bruno's passing was left to tend to the estate. With a somewhat detached nature to the situation, is it possible he is hiding guilt? or is he simply numb to grief?

Dr.Buford discovered the body of his late friend, Mr.Bolet, in which he determined the cause of his death natural, Meanwhile he possessed the knowledge that his friend claimed to hold the key to immortality, while harbouring secrets of his own. Did he use his medical position to falsify his cause of death for his own ticking clock?

The Housekeeper, who spent a great deal of time in Bruno's presence. With a proclivity for dabbling in the other worldly, and tending to her garden, did she unearth Bruno's secret?

Runs Zeke's Curio shop, with an eye for antiques and strange items. Is it possible the crystal skull caught his eye? Or perhaps it would attract the eyes of buyers to his shop.
he’s just SO !!!
because his entire crusade is about helping people find out who they are, and it’s because he has no idea who he is. he sees the worth in other people, sees so much potential in them, sees them for everything they are and can be. but he looks at himself in the mirror and he just doesn’t know who he is. so he changes his hair color again. he gets fired from or quits the job he’s on. he skips town, cuts off relationships, propels himself into a totally different life. he keeps taking all of these jobs because, yes, he’s partially trying to complete his “collection” for MED (still pissed that henrik and minette weren’t there, but YOU KNOW) but he’s also hoping that somehow, somewhere along the line, he’ll find something that he can finally use to define himself.
it bothers him that he’s so much in flux. he wants an identity. because he’s not his grandfather; he has too much of his grounded family upbringing to be that kind of person, but he can’t reconcile his two halves. he reads batman and understands bruce wayne’s struggle on a deeply personal level. as a kid, he writes letters to batman, asking him how he handles it, does he think he can ever combine lives? they pile up on his desk and in his drawers until he can finally leave home and start this journey of his because maybe he’ll find answers there.
and this is why i love joe so much for sonny. because joe is the kind of person who just unabashedly is, no matter what people say about him (just ask frank, he’ll tell you). and i think sonny would be a little in awe of joe, who, despite his goofiness, has his identity figured out. joe knows who he is. his self-worth isn’t always what it should be, of course, but whose is? but sonny wants the kind of assurance joe has. he never tries to be someone else; as much as he feels like he’s in frank’s shadow sometimes, he never tries to be frank. he just keeps on keepin’ on being himself, and i think poor, confused sonny would be so taken in by that.
and joe, beautiful joe, would, one day over coffee at their small breakfast table, sum sonny up so succinctly and perfectly and amazingly in just a sentence or two, in a way that would make sonny sit up a little straighter, realize that this boy with whom he’s so enamored actually feels these things about him, that he actually has an impact on people. that he is somebody, but it’s okay that he didn’t know that yet—he had to wait for joe to tell him that. so he sips his coffee and smiles to himself and just says, “oh, nothing,” when joe asks him what he’s grinning about over the morning crossword.
god help me everything comes back to joe and sonny i can’t handle it
